How a Condenser Microphone Works

A condenser microphone (or electrostatic microphone) uses capacitor that contains a diaphragm acting as one plate of the capacitor. Vibrations produced by sound waves change the distance between the diaphragm and the plate. The change in distance creates a change in voltage which can be amplified and output to any compatible device.
