condenser microphone?
Hi
i am planning to buy a condenser microphone to start a little home studio as a novice i really don't know yet what to choose i narrowed my search to 2 mics the first one is the Samsong usb g-track it's price convenient and i haven't found a bad publicity for it online and the OSP STM 1300 i was blown by the comparison made on ebay with the ksm and the Neumann which are industry standard mics but the thing is i do not know what mixer they used when they were making the comparison and what type of mixer i should buy since i'm on a budget right now i'm thinking of the lexicon lambda as audio interface to connect to my laptop and another thing that's killing me is those items have a no return policy so if i don't like them after spending all that money i won't be able to return them so any ideas please
i do not have a firewire port what would you recomand?

Condenser’s are nice, but for your uses. I think you should start off with a dynamic like a Shure SM58 or Beta 58 and an interface. With an interface and tracking software you won’t exactly need a mixer. That can be done in software these days. Whats more with compression, delay and reverb you really won’t notice a huge difference between a condenser and a dynamic. Those things are in addition to multi-tracking are how you get a good sound. After you gain more experience with the studio, that’s when you should look into a decent condenser. You’ll get more out of it then.
With regard to your interface. If your laptop has a firewire port, you really really really want to get a firewire interface as usb has too many latency issues.
